Africa 2.0 Empowers Women in support of Peace Day.

On Peace Day, September 21st, Africa 2.0 Champion; Sarah Owusu in collaboration with Fillipa Carreira, held a Peace Dialogue on violence against women and girls, for a diverse group of 15 women – ages 16 – 50.
Sarah and Filipa are both Mozambique-based business women with a passion for creating space and opportunity for women and tackling the challenges which women across the continent face. The objective of this session was to come up with a simple tool that would help raise awareness of the issue of violence against women and to help spot the behaviors that lead to violence before they escalate. “The tool, The Peace Level, that we co-created is currently in its first draft and we hope to get input from women and men all over the world and continue to build on it to capture the many different ways the issue shows up.”
